Comments: Hello Michael,

My name is Virginija, and I am seventeen years old. I am from Lithuania, so please forgive any mistakes I might make. I am not sure if you will read this, but I have some things I would like to say. I really admire your work and look up to you. While I do not wish to act or sing, I want to be just as kind, compassionate, and lovely as you. Your hard work and dedication inspire me. I really want to study Lithuanian philology in the future, but I am not sure if I have the brains for it.

You are one of my all-time favorite singers. I can listen to you for hours and not get tired. You have such a lovely, calming, and soft voice. Every time I listen to any of your albums, it touches something within me. Your songs stay in my head for days, and I know them by heart. Though I also enjoy jazz and Lithuanian bard songs, which people find odd because teenagers my age tend to listen to modern music.

I am so grateful for you, sir. You have helped me cope with many bad days. All I have to do is play one of your interviews, and I will be smiling and laughing as if I am in the audience. I do not have a supportive family and barely have anyone to talk to, but I try to take your advice, find teachers who push me in the right direction, and help me build my future. You have made such a big impact on my life, Mr. Crawford, even though I have never met you. I am so impressed and fascinated by your accomplishments because I want to have a story to tell one day. Unfortunately, I have not done anything interesting yet. It feels like I should have started working sooner, but it took me forever to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I have no plans for my future if my dreams fail, but I am grateful there are people like you who inspire others and help them follow their dreams.

I only recently watched "Hello, Dolly!" Such a wonderful musical with amazing actors; it really lifted my mood. "The Phantom of The Opera" makes me cry every time and evokes deep emotions in my heart. I really want to visit London to see the show; I have never been before. I also watched the film "Barnum," and I have to say that I have never seen a more impressive show. Oh, how wonderful it must have been to see live. And, of course, the clumsy Frank Spencer always makes me laugh.

I just felt like I had to get this off my chest. You have really made an enormous impact on my life, and I hope you see this and realize how admired, looked up to, and loved you are, Michael Crawford.

Sincerely, Virginija

Comments: Hi Michael,

Just came across interview with yourself and michelle on YouTube, was great to see you both discussing the characters of Frank and Betty. Big fan of the show, was before my time but nothing has me in hysterics like Some Mothers. I continue to rewatch the dvds whenever im feeling a bit low and they just give me an instant lift! So thankyou to the both of you, comedy at it's finest and executed perfectly! On a side note, is it true that the theme tune to the show is "Some Mothers Do Ave Em" n morse code? Thanks Lee, 39, Newcastle upon Tyne

Comments: I have been fan since Condorman. I was fortunate to meet you at a telethon for PBS twenty something years ago, I was pet of the Tony and Tina’s Wedding cast. We actually spoke about Condorman during a commercial break, at each commercial break we spoke. It was memorable time for me. I hope you are doing well.

Comments: Michael, when you were the Phantom performing in Los Angeles in 1989, I saw your performance twice. Your performances were over the top. I could have seen it 10 more times. I had the opportunity just recently to see the tape of the last performance at the Royal Albert. Oh my ,,what a surprise to see you walk out on stage at the end of the performance!.. you are a magnificent performer. All the very best to you.

Comments: Hello Mr. Crawford,

I had the chance to revisit The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway a few weeks ago after almost two years in darkness. POTO was the first show I ever saw as a child and it's what introduced me to your spirit and your voice. Thank you for the delightful anecdotes, charming sense of humor, and love of the stage. A lifetime of being your fan has been a pleasure.

Hoping you are well and having a wonderful holiday season and weeks leading up to your 80th birthday!!

All the best,

Katrina

Comments: Hi Mr. Crawford--I wanted to let you know that my whole family loves & still watches the movies Condorman & A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. I'm in my 60's & saw the movies growing up, and as we homeschooled our 3 sons they have all grown up watching the movies I loved as a kid. We're about to watch Condorman this afternoon and I wanted to let you know your movies are still loved! My 19-yr-old says it's good that you didn't make a sequel to Condorman, even though the first movie gives a great set-up for one, because a 2nd movie just couldn't match the perfection of the first one. Thank you for the joy you've brought to us.

Comments: Fans of Michael are being asked to contact the American network, Turner Classic Movies at tcm.com to ask them to air a marathon of his films on his 80th birthday next January 19th.TCM fairs A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Hello, Dolly!. If memory serves me correctly, they've aired The War Lover and The Knack at least once. But it would be wonderful if fans on our side of the pond could enjoy his films from the 50s and early 60s that we're less likely to see.It would be a fine tribute to Michael.

Comments: Hello and thank you! I am a sixty one year old woman starting a new career as a Pastor in the United Methodist Church. The path is long and hard and sometimes painful...as I'm also considered disabled...but hope and love can not be. These things can't be disabled. Listening and watching your work has helped me get through all I've faced, including the recent passing of a parent and some friends. Your work has lifted my spirits, taken me away from hardship, and motivated me forward. It's made me focus on doing...although I shall never be able to do as well as you have in any role you've enlivened! You've given me so much. I am grateful and I am thankful and I keep you in my prayers and best wishes for all things. With great gratitude, Ellyn (Ellie) Rose Fox

Comments: Hello Michael and Happy Birthday greetings! I first saw you in Barnum while I was on vacation in the UK. My initial reaction was: "Why did I come to England to see an American actor play an American character?" Your accent was that good! I thought you were from the U.S.! What a delight you were! Since it was filmed, I am able to relive your wonderful performance. I desperately wish that had been done for Phantom, but at least we have several complete.audios. I wanted to let you know how much your many recorded CDs have meant to me, especially during this virus mess. I often listen to them. On Eagles' Wings is one of my favorites. Thank you for sharing your great God-given talent with the rest of us. (Your Nan would be so pleased.) Just know that you are a blessing to many. With best wishes always, Pat

Comments: Don’t know where to start. As a youngster I loved your character “Frank”, and if honest, I also had a crush on you screen wife “Betty”. I never got to see you in the lead role “The Phantom…”, but I just two days ago bought the album at a St Johns store (they have great CD’s). I have played this over and over… my god it’s beautiful. What can I say Michael, you are a British institution. Funny thing, here in NZ we have a lot of old British re-runs, and recently we had “Some Mothers Do have’em” I know this is far in your past, but my wife never saw you first time around (too young and also not British), anyway, introduced her to you, your character back then, and she loved it. Good comedy is priceless, timeless and transcends backgrounds, cultures and borders. All the best, and thank you.

Comments: I just would like to let Michael know how much I admire his singing and performances on stage or in a TV show even though I have only seen him on tape or YouTube. He is the best Phanton ever. Every note he sings to any song is always well done in such the most perfect way that a song can be sung, true to its emotion and expression meant to be conveyed to the audience. He is one of the best singers in our time and I would like to salute him for that! Michael, thank you for being you. I also admire your kind heart and sense of humor; I enjoy listening to all your interviews. You are so great!!!

Comments: Hello Michael, I’m joining your fan association because I’m not only impressed with your stage and musical ability but also because of your desire to care for children and I sense you are a genuine, caring, grounded man- and funny. I probably would not have know about you because I have never seen the phantom of the opera and in fact my wife and I chose the song “ all I ask Of you “ as our wedding song. I am an artist , actually a medical illustrator and also an occupational therapy assistant which I did for security. Being in the arts is tough. We all have, I feel, skill sets or callings for a better word. And your right. Many children have it hard. I’ve heard 1 in 5 kids go hungry in America. That’s not counting kids with cancer or other chronic illness. I try to help the Lakota Souix with a few dollars when I can. I’m furloughed but work part time with the intellectually disabled. I any event I’m 73 and drawing 3 hours a day. I for some reason heard Josh Groban and Sarah Brightman sing that song all I ask of you. I still feel it is so beautiful. So I got interested in the Phantom production. I love music but I’m weird in I love movie sound tracks all the way back to the swashbuckling Eric Wolfgang Korngold. ( Errol Flynn).,So in hearing about you I was energized. My wife is a soprano, who was in the Bach choir at one time and suggests that I could sing with the local Choral group. So I have a good voice? I drop an octave if I can’t hit the note, but I have a good ear for music. Many of the people are rather good though. So I might join it if we ever get beyond this corona virus. So it’s something my wife and I can do together. So thank you for inspiring me and being the wonderful, caring human being that you are. Oh please take care because you don’t want corona virus, it’s a beast. Really. Take care. Sincerely Drew, oh I was in London in 1969 for Army leave. I enjoyed it a lot. I was lucky. It could have been Saigon or worse.

Comments: Hello Michael, After watching both the Phantom 25th and Love Never Dies over the past two weekends, I’ve reconnected to the beautiful story that made me fall in love with theater, inspired me to become an actor, and become a fan of yours. It’s been well over 20 years since I was a member of MCIFA. I remember seeing you perform in the Music of ALW USA tour. I saw you 2-3 times in Florida. I’d even written a letter to you, and was so touched to receive a reply via MCIFA. You truly have no idea what that meant to me. It was everything, truly.

Thank you for the gifts you’ve shared with us throughout your life. I hope you truly know how loved you are, and how many lives you’ve touched for the better. Mine included. I hope I can someday thank you in person for all you’ve given me with your music and artistry. God Bless You always.

Comments: Hi Michael, always looking for some new CD or DVD singing with that angelic voice of yours. I did not know about you when you came to Canada, my biggest loss. I make up for it by playing your CD’severy day and watching Michael Crawford in concert, so beautiful. I read your book and watch every interview I can find on you tube. I wish your Phantom of The Opera, you played the original phantom would come out. I watched Some Mothers Do Have Them so many times, always lifts me up, also have bought your movies. Keep healthy , there are many people who love you dearly, something about you touches people’s heart .
